What you get with a DCXV cloud server

Every cloud server is a KVM virtual machine with dedicated vCPU time, its own NVMe storage and full root or Administrator access - not a container sharing a kernel with strangers. You choose the operating system at order time, reinstall it whenever you like, and reach the machine over SSH, RDP or the browser console when the network is the thing that broke.

Backups are optional and off by default: add one or more from the calculator and the price updates immediately, so you only pay for what you actually turned on. Snapshots are separate, free and instant: take one before a risky change and roll back in seconds if it goes wrong.

Prague or Covilha, and why the hardware differs

Both sites are Tier III and both cost the same. Prague runs Xeon E5 at 2.2-3.6 GHz and is the shorter path from Germany, Poland and the Baltics; Covilha runs Xeon Platinum at 2.4-3.9 GHz and is the better choice for Iberia, north Africa and transatlantic traffic. If your users are spread across Europe, pick the one nearer the majority and measure before moving.

What a cloud server costs, and what moves the number

The calculator above prices the exact machine you configure rather than pushing you into a tier that is half wasted. Four things move the figure: vCPU count, RAM, NVMe capacity and the number of backup copies. Everything else - the IPv4 address, the traffic, the console, the reinstalls - is included.

Cloud plans start at 15 EUR per month. Disk is the one dimension worth thinking about twice: capacity under a terabyte is billed at a much lower rate per gigabyte than capacity above it, so 960 GB is dramatically cheaper than 1000 GB. If you need more than that, a dedicated server is usually the better buy.

What people run on them

The common shapes are web and API workloads - Node, Laravel, Django, Next.js - staging environments that need to look like production without costing like it, small and mid-size PostgreSQL or MySQL instances, Docker hosts, CI runners, and VPN or mail gateways that need a stable European address.

Anything that needs a fixed European jurisdiction for its data belongs here too: both data centres are in the EU, so GDPR questions about where personal data physically sits have a short answer.

When to move up to a dedicated server

A cloud server shares its host with other tenants. That is the right trade for most workloads, and it is what makes resizing and snapshots instant. It stops being the right trade when you need every cycle of a physical CPU, more than a terabyte of fast local disk, a specific hardware feature, or a licence that is priced per physical socket.

Sustained heavy load is the other signal. If a machine is pinned near its ceiling all day, every day, the dedicated equivalent is usually cheaper per unit of work and never contends with a neighbour.

Getting started, and moving an existing server in

Ordering takes about ten minutes end to end: configure, pay, and the machine is provisioned and reachable. Pick an image from the catalogue, or boot your own ISO if you need a distribution or a partition layout we do not ship.

Migrating in is the same work as any server move - rsync or your application's own dump-and-restore, a DNS TTL lowered a day ahead, and a snapshot taken the moment the new machine is serving correctly. If you are moving from another provider and want a second pair of eyes on the plan, support will read it before you start.

- When does my billing cycle start?

The billing cycle starts on the day you ordered a server and automatically renewed every month, until you cancel your order

- Can I upgrade / downgrade the ordered plan?

Yes, all cloud plans are flexible and can be upgraded / downgraded at any time per your request, but please note that disk cannot be downgraded without formatting

- How long does it take for my cloud server to be set up?

Usually it should take no longer than 10 minutes for your server to be setup and ready

- Do you provide SSH / RDP access? What about KVM recovery console?

Yes, you will be provided with administrative full root access to your server over SSH for Linux and over RDP to Windows, also the KVM recovery console will be available for you
