Windows VPS with RDP
One Windows machine in a certified EU data centre, reachable over Remote Desktop from wherever you are working this month - for the software that only runs on Windows.
Who it is for
A company whose only Windows machine is under a desk
The program that has to run on Windows runs on a tower PC in the office, and it is available exactly as long as that building has power and somebody left it switched on.
A team that works on Linux or macOS and needs Windows for one thing
One Windows-only client, licence server or build target forces a whole second machine nobody wants to keep under a desk.
A company whose RDP is published to the internet
Port 3389 answers the entire internet because that was the fastest way to get people working, and the logs are a wall of login attempts.
What people actually run on it
- Client-bank terminals and payment software that ships Windows-only
- Accounting clients - 1C, BAS, M.E.Doc - when one person administers the machine; the accounting server page sizes it by accountant instead
- A Windows-only CRM or ERP client that needs to sit close to its database
- Industry software tied to a hardware key or a licence server that expects Windows
- MS Office, a shared folder and per-user permissions for a small team
- Build and test targets that need a real Windows toolchain rather than an emulator
- Automation and reporting stacks that only ship a Windows driver
- A jump host into the rest of your infrastructure, on a static EU address
Three sizes for a machine you administer yourself
These sizes assume one or two people connecting over Remote Desktop to run and maintain the machine. If the point is several employees working inside the same Windows desktop at once, that is RDS - the remote office page sizes it per person and carries the user licences in the price. Whichever size you pick, the Windows Server image and one weekly backup are already included.
What is and is not included
- The Windows Server image is included at no extra charge - 2019, 2022 or 2025, Standard or Datacenter, EN or RU. There is no separate line item for the operating system.
- RDS user CAL licences are not needed for administrative access and are not included here. Windows Server itself allows two administrative Remote Desktop sessions, which is what these sizes assume; the moment several employees need to work in the desktop at the same time you need RDS user CALs, sold in the configurator and installed by an engineer within three days. The licensing page has the full split.
- Application licences stay yours. We do not resell 1C, BAS, M.E.Doc, Office or Windows-only industry software.
- Managed administration is an add-on, not a default. Unless you select it in the configurator, patching and hardening this machine is yours.
Running Windows over RDP without leaving the door open
- Two administrative Remote Desktop sessions come with Windows Server. That is enough to install, run and maintain one machine, and it needs no additional licence.
- Publishing port 3389 to the internet is the default mistake, and scanners find it within hours. A EUR 15 VPN gateway in front of the machine means RDP answers only inside the tunnel - the corporate VPN page covers it.
- You can boot your own ISO over HTTPS straight from the panel, so a specific Windows build, an evaluation image or a rescue disk is your decision rather than ours.
- Snapshots roll a bad update back in two clicks and one weekly backup is already in the price, with daily retention up to seven days available. Take the snapshot before the update, not after.
- A static IPv4 comes with the machine, which is what licence servers, client banks and IP allow lists expect to see.
- Prague and Covilha are both Tier III sites on the same AS under EU jurisdiction. Prague is the closer of the two for users in central and eastern Europe.
One Windows VPS versus a terminal server for the whole team
| Windows VPS (this page) | Remote office, RDS | |

Moving an existing Windows server here
Say what has to run on it
The application, roughly how much data it holds, and how many people connect. That is enough to pick a size, and to tell you whether you want this page or the remote office one.
We hand over the machine
Windows Server in Prague or Covilha, deployed in under 10 minutes, with administrator access and a static IPv4.
Bring the application and its data
Reinstall on a clean image and restore your data, or boot your own ISO if the exact build matters. Standard Windows tooling throughout - nothing proprietary on our side.
Close the port, then cut over
Put the VPN gateway in front and verify from one device before anyone else moves. Then point people or DNS at the new machine, take a snapshot of the working state, and switch the old box off.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is the Windows licence included?
Yes. Windows Server 2019, 2022 and 2025, Standard or Datacenter, EN or RU, are part of the OS image at no extra charge on every cloud and dedicated plan. There is no separate line item for the operating system
Are RDS licences included?
No, and for one administrator they are not needed. Windows Server itself allows two administrative Remote Desktop sessions, which is enough to install, run and maintain the machine. RDS user CALs are only required once several employees work inside the desktop at the same time; they are sold in the configurator and installed by an engineer within three days. There is no free trial of RDS user licences - the 180 days some hosts advertise is Microsoft evaluation media for the operating system, which is a different thing and does not cover multi-user Remote Desktop
Can I install my own application on it?
Yes. You get administrator access to a machine that is yours alone, so anything that runs on Windows Server can be installed on it. We do not restrict or preinstall application software, and we do not resell the licences for it
Can I boot my own ISO?
Yes. Upload a bootable ISO from any HTTPS URL and boot the VM from it straight from the control panel, which covers a specific Windows build, an evaluation image or a rescue disk
Is a backup included?
One weekly backup is in the price of every size on this page, and snapshots roll a bad update back in two clicks. Daily retention up to seven days is available as an add-on. If you configure a machine yourself in the calculator instead, the backup is a control you set rather than something already switched on. Free disk space matters either way: a rollback needs somewhere to go
Can you help migrate my existing Windows server?
We deploy the new machine in under ten minutes with administrator access and a static IPv4, and you reinstall the application and restore your data - or boot your own ISO if the exact build matters. Standard Windows tooling throughout, nothing proprietary on our side. If nobody on your side wants to do that work, managed administration is an add-on in the configurator
Can I host BAS or M.E.Doc on it?
Yes, and plenty of people do. If accounting is the whole reason for the server, the dedicated pages are sized for it: the accounting server page sizes by accountant and covers 1C, BAS and MASTER, the M.E.Doc page covers e-reporting specifically, and the BAS and 1C pages hand off straight to an order with the licences picked for you
What latency should users in Ukraine expect?
Prague is the closer of our two sites for central and eastern Europe and is the one to pick for Ukrainian users; Covilha in Portugal is the western edge of the network. Both sit on our own AS204057 with EU peering. Remote Desktop is sensitive to jitter rather than raw distance, so the honest answer is to test it: we will not print a millisecond figure here that depends on your ISP and your route rather than on our network
