Hetzner alternative in Europe
Tier III certified, GDPR-native, with engineers answering in about 10 minutes - for the workload currently running on Hetzner Cloud.
Who it is for
A team that outgrew "Cost-Optimized"
Hetzner labels its entry cloud tier suitable only for test environments and low to medium CPU use, not for production.
A business facing an ISO 27001 or GDPR-sovereignty audit
Hetzner data centers are not universally Tier III certified, and an auditor asks for more than a shared status page.
Someone tired of a general support queue
A non-critical ticket waits, and a dedicated response time needs a separate paid support contract.
What moves across unchanged
- Standard Linux images - the same distributions Hetzner Cloud runs
- Anything already running in a VM: databases, application servers, background workers
- Your own automation - Hetzner's Robot API becomes our GraphQL API and CLI, same idea
- Docker and container workloads, unchanged
Sized the way a Hetzner Cloud workload already is
Three cloud VPS tiers, the same specs and prices already published on /cloud-server - match the closest tier to what you run today and resize later without a reinstall.
What is different from Hetzner
- No auction-style market for spare hardware - pricing is fixed per tier, not variable by what happens to be available
- No self-service low-cost bare-metal tier - for genuine bare-metal hardware at a fixed price, see /dedicated-server
- A response beyond a basic ticket is included at every tier - there is no separate paid support contract to add on top
Hetzner Cloud versus DCXV
| Hetzner Cloud | DCXV | |
|---|---|---|
| Facility certification | Not universally Tier III | Tier III certified, both sites |
| Cloud uptime SLA | 99.9% standard | 99.982% facility SLA |
| Support response | General queue, variable | ~10 min average, 24/7/365, direct to an engineer |
| Jurisdiction | Germany | Cyprus, EU, GDPR-native |
| Entry-tier suitability | "Cost-Optimized" - test and low-CPU use only, per Hetzner's own labelling | Same tier structure is production-rated, backup included |
Moving from Hetzner
Pick the closest tier
Match vCPU, RAM and disk to what runs on Hetzner Cloud today - the three packages above cover a typical small, medium and large VM.
We hand over a server
A cloud VPS in Prague or Covilha, deployed in under 10 minutes, with root access and a static IPv4.
Move the image, or reinstall and restore
Standard Linux distributions match what Hetzner Cloud runs; bring your own automation, or reinstall clean and restore from your own backup.
Point DNS and decommission the old VM
Once the new server is verified, cut over DNS and cancel - monthly billing, no minimum term and no auction commitment to wait out.

FAQ
- Is Hetzner Cloud's 99.9% SLA the same guarantee as DCXV's?
No. Hetzner's published cloud SLA is 99.9%, which allows roughly 8.7 hours of downtime a year. DCXV's facility SLA is 99.982%, and both sites are Tier III certified, which Hetzner's data centers are not universally
- Why does DCXV cost more than Hetzner Cloud?
Hetzner is genuinely hard to beat on price per resource, and this page does not pretend otherwise. The difference buys Tier III certification at both sites, a higher facility SLA, a backup included in every plan, and 24/7 support with a roughly 10-minute average response instead of a general ticket queue
- Is migrating from Hetzner difficult?
Not for a standard Linux workload. DCXV runs the same distributions Hetzner Cloud does, so most migrations are a straightforward image move or a clean reinstall plus a restore from your own backup, then a DNS cutover
- Does DCXV have an auction-style tier like Hetzner's Robot server market?
No. Pricing here is fixed per tier rather than variable by whatever hardware happens to be available. For a genuine bare-metal requirement at a fixed price, see /dedicated-server
- Is DCXV Tier III certified everywhere Hetzner is not?
DCXV operates two sites, TTC TELEPORT DC2 in Czechia and the Covilha facility in Portugal, both Tier III. Hetzner's own data centers are not universally Tier III certified, which is the gap that matters for an ISO 27001 or GDPR-sovereignty audit
- Do I need a paid support contract for a fast response?
No. The roughly 10-minute average response and direct access to an engineer are included at every tier, not sold as an add-on the way Hetzner's beyond-basic-ticket support is
